The FERMI project participated in the European Commission’s “Projects to Policy” seminar in Brussels

Millions of citizens across Europe use the internet to find all kinds of information. Unfortunately, there are actors who use these tools to spread disinformation and manipulate public opinion, creating mistrust in science and legitimate governments and often leading to criminal activities.

FERMI is developing a framework to detect and monitor the way D&FN is spread, both in terms of locations and within different segments of society, and to take appropriate security countermeasures.

The seminar was a great opportunity to learn more about the EU’s work in the area of internal security and to meet project leaders and colleagues from other projects recently funded under Horizon Europe. In addition to project presentations and discussions, the PPS included several insightful sessions on dissemination and exploitation, innovation uptake and communication.
