Cybersecurity guarantee of social well-being and freedom, the CENSIS-IISFA Report presented to the Italian Senate

Rome, 19 July 2023 – The CENSIS-IISFA Report (Italian Association of Digital Forensics) was presented in the Sala Capitolare of Palazzo della Minerva of the Senate of the Republic, “The value of Cybersecurity in Italy. IT security is a guarantee of well-being and freedom”, promoted by Assocomunicatori. The research shows how the increase in cyber-attacks, together with the broadening of the cyber risk spectrum, influences the lifestyles of Italians. It is therefore appropriate to promote greater collective awareness on the issue of cybersecurity. This actions refers to those groups, which, due to their social, cultural or personal condition, as well as being more at risk of digital divide, represent the weakest components of the digital ecosystem. Thus, a national cyber resilience needs to be consolidated, as a guarantee of social well-being and freedom.

The director of the Italian national agency for cybersecurity (ACN), the director of the Italian communications police service and the director of the Italian military cyber defense service, among others, took part as speakers in the event.

IISFA is the Italian Association of Digital Forensics experts (it has around 800 members, of which over 50% are investigators belonging to LEAs). Guido Villa from TECOMS SRL, who is also a part of the NOTIONES project consortium, is a member of the board of directors of IISFA since 2020.

Censis (Centro Studi Investimenti Sociali) is an Italian socio-economic research institute founded in 1964.
