NOTIONES at Security Research Event 2023

After some years of absence due to COVID-19 and Ukraine war, the Security Research Event 2023 finally took place in Brussels on the 24th and 25th of October 2023; under the theme: Societal transformations, climate change and digitalization – a new paradigm of Security Research?, various experts gathered to provide their views on the new challenges that the world is facing and in particular in regards to the security of our citizens. The event consisted in different panel sessions discussing specific topics, such as participative resilience, citizens as owners of their own security and as contributors to EU societal or the digitalization of society, what new threats, new opportunities, new responses it poses. Moreover, the event had an exhibition area where projects were able to show their findings and demonstrate their solutions. More than 1200 participants registered for the event, both online and in person, so the event also provided the perfect opportunity for networking and matchmaking among participants. 

NOTIONES´ project coordinator, Olatz Ibañez, presented the project project´s objectives and findings as part of the Spanish stand, organized by the CDTI (Centre for the Industrial Technological Development) and had also the opportunity to meet with some of our sister projects such as PopAI or Starlight. We had the pleasure of having our Project Officer, Alina Suhetzki, on site, supporting the work that NOTIONES is doing in the key task of connecting the different stakeholders in the Security & Intelligence field, end users, technological providers and research and academia.
