20 May Prospects of integration of artificial intelligence in cybersecurity systems
The article ‘Prospects for Integrating Artificial Intelligence into Cybersecurity Systems’ by the authors of the National Aviation University presents a modern view of the use of AI in the field of digital security. The authors consider the theoretical and practical model of AI use, which covers four key stages: vulnerability scanning, risk assessment, attack prediction, and development of a comprehensive protection system. The study shows that 51% of large organisations are already using AI to detect threats, and 12% have reduced cybersecurity costs by implementing the following technologies.
Particular attention is paid to the use of modern language models, in particular ChatGPT and GPT-4, to analyse the behavioural patterns of attackers, build attack scenarios and provide protection recommendations. A pilot project is proposed to adapt the theoretical model to the real needs of organisations, integrate it with existing systems and test the effectiveness of solutions. At the stage of practical implementation, the use of programming languages (e.g., Python) to automate scanning (Nmap, Nessus), vulnerability analysis and risk assessment using CVSS is demonstrated.
In conclusion, the authors emphasise that the integration of AI is not only an innovation, but a necessity for sustainable and proactive cyber defence. However, AI cannot completely replace the involvement of specialists: human control, performance evaluation, and continuous adaptation remain key to the successful operation of such systems. The author concludes that cooperation between humans and AI is necessary as a key to building an effective cyber defence model.
Thus, the article offers a practical and at the same time scientifically sound approach to the implementation of innovative technologies in the field of cybersecurity, opening up prospects for further research and implementation in the private and public sectors.
