Call for Contributions: Achievements in Law Enforcement Agency and Innovator Cooperation

The NOTIONES project’s objective had been to build a network of practitioners from security and intelligence services of EU Member States and associated countries. The network supported the needs of security and intelligence services and equipped them to participate in research and/or innovation actions. The project brought together practitioners from military, civil, financial, judiciary, local, national, and international police authorities.

As the project approached its completion, the fifth NOTIONES conference drew together innovative research, case studies, and technical demonstrations. The event shared best practices in enabling security and intelligence practitioners to work together with academia and industry. Rapid technological change and advances in applying technologies to the everyday work of security practitioners were translated into shareable knowledge to help maintain secure, adaptive, and resilient societies.

The conference offered research and practitioner knowledge from the NOTIONES network and other EU projects in the field, and invited participants to share recent findings and new insights. For the conference, presentations were invited on ongoing and recently concluded research, practitioner cases, novel uses of relevant technologies, and analyses of changing law and governance in the field.

We invited original research papers, case studies, and best‑practice showcases on the following themes related to cooperation between academia, industry, and LEAs in:

  • Developing new technologies helping LEAs

  • New education and training helping LEAs

  • Novel technologies in service of law enforcement agencies

Registration fee: none for the NOTIONES conference. A limited number of promotional codes were available to register free of charge for the Forum InCyber area for persons who had registered for the 5th NOTIONES  Conference.
